Remembering Clive Davis

The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music mourns the passing of legendary music executive and producer Clive Davis, whose extraordinary vision helped shape the soundtrack of modern America.

Over a career spanning more than six decades, Davis championed and nurtured some of the most influential artists in popular music, including Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Santana, Janis Joplin, Billy Joel, and countless others. His ability to recognize and cultivate talent transformed the music industry and left an enduring impact on generations of musicians and listeners alike.

Clive Davis’s legacy is permanently represented at the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music through the Clive Davis Gallery, which features the exhibit “Bruce Springsteen, Songwriter.”

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the many artists whose lives and careers were touched by his wisdom, advocacy, and passion for music. His influence will continue to resonate for generations to come.
