Directions and TRavel

If flying into Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR):

Via car (approximately 50 minutes):

Once leaving the airport, get on NJ-81 S in Elizabeth from Hotel Rd. and US-1 S/US-9 S. Take I-95 S to the Garden State Parkway South to NJ-36 E in Eatontown. This is exit 105 on the Garden State Parkway S. Continue on NJ-36 E to Monmouth Road. Make right onto Monmouth Road and continue onto Cedar Avenue to the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music on the right.

Via public transportation:

Once you arrive at Newark Airport, there is an automated monorail train link, AirTrain Newark (www.airtrainnewark.com) that takes you directly from the Arrivals terminal to the Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station, where you transfer to a southbound NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line train (www.njtransit.com).

The NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line (NJCL) takes you to Long Branch station, the nearest station to the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes. Purchase your ticket prior to boarding the train as there is a surcharge if you purchase your ticket on the train. Vending machines for NJ Transit tickets are located at the entrance to the AirTrain station in each airline terminal.

Once at Long Branch station, take a taxi/Uber/Lyft from the station to the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music. The journey is about 1.5 miles (2 kilometers).

Taxis/Uber/Lyft also operate from Newark Airport at rates based on your destination.

 

Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music to Asbury Park (Approximately 10 minutes via car):

Upon exiting the parking lot, turn left to head south on Norwood Avenue (Route 71). Continue for approximately 3 miles. After crossing Deal Lake, make a right onto Deal Lake Drive, continue for about ½ a mile and turn left onto Main Street. There are two main entertainment areas in Asbury Park, the Cookman Avenue corridor and the beachfront area. Both sections are populated with numerous restaurants, music venues, shops, and other attractions.

For the Cookman Avenue area, continue on Main Street south for approximately 14 blocks to Cookman Avenue. Turn left. There are numerous public parking lots, as well as metered street parking available.

To go to the beachfront area, continue on Cookman until it ends/becomes Asbury Avenue. Go one block and road turns left to become Ocean Avenue. Here you will find the Stone Pony, Wonder Bar, Convention Hall, and the boardwalk area.

 

Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music to Pier Village (approximately 7 minutes via car):

Upon exiting the parking lot, turn right onto Cedar Avenue and continue for approximately one mile to Ocean Avenue. Turn left and head north on Ocean Avenue for approximately one mile to Chelsea Avenue. Make a right. This area is populated with a number of restaurants, hotels, and shopping, as well as a beautiful beach!

 

Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music to downtown Freehold (Approximately 30 mins via car):

Upon exiting the parking lot, turn left onto Cedar Avenue, continuing approximately one mile to Monmouth Road (bear to the right). Follow Monmouth Road to the Route 36 intersection. Turn left on to Route 36 westbound. Continue on Route 36 to Route 18 North. Follow Route 18 North to County Road 537 West in Colts Neck. Take exit 22B from Route 18 North. Follow Count Road 537 West to East Main Street in Freehold (Approx. 3 miles).

Via public transportation:

Train: NJ Transit runs trains to the Long Branch station via New York Penn Station on the North Jersey Coast Line. Service is frequent during rush hours and generally hourly during off=peak times. Schedules can be found here.

Ferry:  Seastreak provides ferry service from the Battery Maritime Building in downtown Manhattan, as well as East 35th Street, to their terminal in Highlands, NJ. This is approximately a 20 minute trip to the Springsteen Center for American Music via taxi/Uber/Lyft service. Schedules and fares can be found here.
