The 2020 documentary gives an up-close look at the lives of the musicians who inhabited Laurel Canyon\, painting an intimate portrait of the artists who created a music revolution that would change popular culture. \nThis film screening is part of the Echoes Across the Border: Laurel Canyon and the Northern Connection music summit presented by the National Music Centre in collaboration with the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music. The summit brings together industry leaders to discuss how cross-border Canadian-U.S. influences have shaped generations of artists\, with a special focus on the ’60s and ’70s Laurel Canyon era\, where songwriting visionaries like Joni Mitchell and Neil Young made their mark at home and beyond. \n\n\n\n\n\nLaurel Canyon (2020)\nLaurel Canyon is a two-part documentary series\, directed by Alison Ellwood\, that features an intimate portrait of the artists who created a music revolution through a wealth of rare and newly unearthed footage and audio recordings. \nFeaturing all-new\, original interviews with Jackson Browne\, Don Henley\, Michelle Phillips\, Graham Nash\, Linda Ronstadt\, Bonnie Raitt\, Roger McGuinn and more\, the uniquely immersive and experiential docuseries takes us back in time to a place where a rustic canyon in the heart of Los Angeles became a musical petri dish. \n1:00 pm – Episode 1 (80 minutes)\n2:30 pm – Intermission\n3:00 pm – Episode 2 (80 minutes)\n4:30 pm – Screening ends

Joining them will be Erik Flannigan\, essayist\, Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition.
