SUMMARY:Blue Hawk Records "Boardwalk Jam" for Light of Day
DESCRIPTION:The Light of Day Foundation\, Inc.\, utilizes the awesome power of music to raise money and awareness in our continuing quest to end Parkinson’s disease and related neuro-degenerative diseases\, specifically Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)\, within our lifetime. \nThe Foundation’s mission is to fund research into possible cures\, improved treatments and support for patients who suffer from those illnesses\, their families and their caregivers to help improve their quality of life. The primary fundraising efforts are an annual series of concerts held in Asbury Park\, NJ. Since its inception in 2000\, Light of Day has raised over $6.5 million in the fight to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease. What began as a single concert in New Jersey has grown into approximately seventy shows in thirteen countries on 3 continents including North America\, Europe and Australia! \nThe concerts and the organization began as a surprise birthday party planned by Tony Pallagrosi and Rich Russo in November 1998 at the Downtown Cafe in Red Bank\, NJ to celebrate the 40th birthday of artist manager and music industry veteran Bob Benjamin. Benjamin had recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease\, a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system\, and in lieu of gifts\, asked that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. Over $2\,000 was raised that night. Spurred by the generosity and support\, Benjamin reached out to friends\, including concert promoter Tony Pallagrosi and musician Joe D’Urso\, and formed the Light of Day charity\, taking its name from a Bruce Springsteen song. \nFor more information about the Light of Day Foundation – https://www.lightofday.org/ \nThe Boardwalk Jam is presented by Blue Hawk Records and sponsored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music\, The Leon Hess Business School and the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University. \nSchedule (Subject to change): \n7:30-7:45 Sam Jordan\n7:50-8:05 Abby Garcia\n8:10-8:35 Peach Trees\n8:45-9:00 Amani Lillian\n9:05-9:20 Elijah Elias\n9:30 – 9:55 Samantha Spano\n10:05-10:35 Corine Rose\n10:50-end HOUSE BAND

SUMMARY:American Music Honors 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music has announced the honorees of its fourth annual American Music Honors event\, to be held Saturday\, April 18 on the campus of Monmouth University. \nThe 2026 honorees are: Dionne Warwick\, Patti Smith\, Dr. Dre\, The E Street Band\, and The Doors. This year’s event will also feature a special posthumous tribute to The Band. \nDionne Warwick is one of the most influential vocalists in American popular music\, known for her elegant phrasing and emotional precision. \nPatti Smith is a visionary artist and poet whose groundbreaking work fused punk\, poetry\, and rock into a powerful new language of artistic expression. \nDr. Dre is a pioneering producer\, artist\, and entrepreneur who helped shape the sound of hip-hop and launched the careers of some of the genre’s most influential voices. \nThe E Street Band is one of the most enduring and influential ensembles in American rock history\, with a body of work that has given voice to working-class stories for over five decades. \nThe Doors were a defining force of late-1960s rock\, blending blues\, psychedelia\, and literary ambition into music that challenged conventions and expanded the possibilities of the genre. \nThe Band—despite all but one member being Canadians—reshaped American roots music by drawing from folk\, blues\, country\, and rock to create a deeply influential and distinctly American sound. \nBrian Williams\, journalist and veteran television news anchor\, will once again host the American Music Honors. \n“The artists we’re honoring this year didn’t just shape popular music—they helped define it\,” said Robert Santelli\, founding executive director of the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music. “Their work reflects the creativity\, risk-taking\, and cultural exchange that sit at the heart of American music\, and it’s a privilege to celebrate their legacies.” \nAmerican Music Honors will take place in Monmouth University’s Pollak Theatre. Stevie Van Zandt’s Disciples of Soul will again serve as the evening’s house band. Award presenters will include Bruce Springsteen (Dionne Warwick and Patti Smith)\, Jimmy Iovine (Dr. Dre)\, Jon Landau (The E Street Band)\, and Stevie Van Zandt (The Doors). \nTickets for the fourth annual American Music Honors will go on sale to the public online on March 18 at noon. Ticket information will be available at springsteencenter.org/american-music-honors-2026 \n“Monmouth University is proud to welcome these luminaries to campus for our fourth American Music Honors\,” said Monmouth University President Patrick Leahy. “The program reflects a living lineage of American music\, spanning pop-soul artistry\, punk-poetry\, hip-hop innovation and rock ’n’ roll. Our honorees embody the diverse tapestry of American music\, and I am grateful for their support of the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music.” \nPast honorees include Darlene Love\, Mavis Staples\, John Mellencamp\, Jackson Browne\, John Fogerty\, Emmylou Harris\, and Tom Morello. \nThe Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music preserves the legacy of Bruce Springsteen and celebrates the history of American music and its diversity of artists and genres. As the home of the Bruce Springsteen Archives\, the Center serves as the official repository for materials related to Springsteen and The E Street Band\, including photographs\, historic memorabilia\, oral histories\, and more. The Center also explores American music more broadly by producing exhibitions\, concerts\, and educational programming that interprets and honors the cultural impact of American music past\, present\, and future.
